79种奥运鲜花培育成功

由于受高温高湿天气的影响，每年8月份北京盛开的鲜花品种寥寥无几。但在明年8月，北京却将成为一片鲜花的海洋。记者从昨天(27日)召开的北京绿化美化工作情况新闻发布会上了解到，本市已经成功选育出79个种、221个品种的鲜花，可在2008年奥运会期间艳丽绽放。

据了解，奥运绿化工程的目标是“绿荫覆盖、花团锦簇、特色突出、环境宜人”，但受高温高湿天气的影响，历年7、8月份北京盛开的鲜花不过十几种。为达到“花团锦簇”的目标，本市科研人员从2003年起通过太空舱育种、杂交育种等方式，从100多个种、400多个品种的花卉中优选出了79个种、221个能适应北京夏季高温、高湿天气，色彩各异、形态不一的花卉品种。
