在今年的全国两会上，政府工作报告中多次提及"民生"字眼，本届政府最重视的执政方略——关注民生。民生之年，我们关注民生，研究民生，解读民生，共享民生。为此，中国扶贫基金会、中央电视台新闻频道、中国财富杂志社决定，在2008年举办第三届中国消除贫困奖同时，联合关注民生、重视民生发展的社会各界，举办2008中国民生行动论坛。
